We are now welcoming visitors back to our Sussex vineyard where you can enjoy the stunning countryside setting and abundance of wildlife, as well as our Eighteen Acre Café and Vineyard Shop.
We have put a variety of measures in place to ensure we are adhering to government guidelines (this includes updates announced by the Government on the 22nd September), as well as to make your time here a safe and enjoyable experience.
You’ll notice a few changes around our estate to help with these measures. Upon entering the building, we are providing hand sanitiser for everyone, including our staff, to use. We ask that all visitors to Bolney follow government guidelines, and no more than six people are permitted to book a single table in our café. Babies and children count as a member of the party. Please note, all members of the party, for both tour and cafe bookings, are required by law to register their own track and trace details. We have now signed up to the NHS track and trace app, which is available for those guests who prefer to use this.
All guests, with the exception of minors under the age of 11 and people with medical conditions that preclude them from wearing face coverings, are kindly asked to bring and wear a face coverings when travelling through our shop area. Café and tour guests will also be required to bring a face covering to wear when arriving at Bolney as our one way system will require you to enter through our shop. Once seated, you are welcome to remove your face covering whilst enjoying our wines and food but request that you wear your masks at all other times during the tour. Tours will be fully socially distanced with 2 meter gaps between individual parties at all times. If you wish to visit our shop area again during or after your tour or café visit, your face covering must be replaced.
Our till points have been fitted with screens to look after you and our staff and all high touch points are being sanitised even more regularly than usual. Our Bolney team will also be wearing face visors to help ensure they can still communicate, with a friendly smile, and ensure you enjoy a first-class guest experience.
We will be allowing a limited number of guests into our shop and café area at any one time to enable us all to maintain social distancing.

Every person who joins us in wether team member or guest, will have signed a disclaimer confirming they have no symptoms and how many households they are from (to help us ensure we are following government guidelines and keeping everyone safe). The rules from the 14th September require that bookings can be for no more than 6 people per table.
On entry into our café / shop you will be met by one of our team, who will be wearing a face visor, and who will be able to advise you of your table number.
We have ensured our tables have as much space as possible, no less than the government have advised, and are also staggering arrival times for each table to reduce footfall at one time. Your dedicated host will be on hand from the moment you are settled at your table until the end of your dining experience.
Tables and chairs will be fully cleaned between each set of covers. When you arrive at your table there will be no cutlery or glasses set and your host will provide you with a menu, which will have been wiped and sanitised before being given to you. Once your order has been taken you will be provided with the relevant cutlery for your order; this will be clean and wrapped in a napkin for you to open.
Once you have enjoyed your dining experience, we ask you stay at your table to pay your bill; we will bring our PDQ machine to you.
Each tour will be limited to a maximum of 16 guests and every guest will need to confirm to the tour guide that they have no symptoms and are following current government guidelines.
On arrival to the vineyard our guests will be met by one of team who will confirm their booking and show them to our tour room, which will be freshly cleaned.
Our tour guides will be equipped with PPE to ensure they can deliver a safe, enjoyable and educational experience. Spare visors, gloves and masks are available for guests if they wish.
There will be a total of 8 tables, set in pairs and spaced no less than government guidelines state. You will be allocated a table on arrival. The tour will follow a one-way system, and each group on the tour will walk up their own dedicated row of vines when in the vineyard to ensure a minimum distance of 2 metres between other guests.
Our tour experiences finish with tasting in our dedicated tour room, and every guest will be asked to sanitise their hands before re-entering the room.
Once guests are back at their tables the tour guide will set each table with 3 freshly cleaned and sanitised glasses, a spittoon and individual portions of the pairing cheese. Your tour guide will use a pourer to reduce contact between the wine bottle and the glasses.
If guests are attending the Grand Gourmet tour, food will be served in individual portions and will be available to eat indoors, or if guests prefer, as a picnic to enjoy in the vines. If guests are attending our Taster Tours and would like to eat in the café before or after their experience, this would need to be pre-booked to ensure we can cater for their needs.
Guests are welcome to visit our shop after their experience or ask a tour guide to help them if they would like to purchase any wine or other local items.
